Once again we are excited about our new relationship with another advocate. We have the pleasure of already being supported by talented and passionate artists, specifically Carleen Anderson and Fred Wesley & the New JBs with whom it is an honour to be associated with.
As it turned out they have gone above and beyond by helping us get acquainted and supported by the one and only Pee Wee Ellis. We are especially excited by this progress because not only is he a big name in the history of Funk and Jazz, but he is the second part of the legendary 3 man horn section for James Browns famous band The JBs, the first being our funk master Fred Wesley. One might even say we are 2/3rds of the way to the entire James Browns horn section.
It might seem like we are name dropping…, can you blame us really? Only when he was coming down the steps of The 606 Club in London did we realize that we were looking at an honest to God legend, that played a major role in music as we know it today. We reminisce on the last times we were in a situation similar to this, when we first met with Carleen Anderson.
We are Happy to say that Pee Wee Ellis will help us in the mission to support the PEPE Charity in their work see – www.pepe.org.uk.
Of course he looked great in them and guess what later that night he was performing at Nell’s Blues and Jazz bar in West Kensington. Like the gentleman he is; he called our founder Baz van Cranenburgh on stage to give a little explanation of the brand and the cause it was founded for. He also wore the Sisonke design for a few of his songs. Good shout Pee Wee!
We would like to officially welcome Pee Wee Ellis and his lovely wife and manager Charlotte to the Bambooka/PEPE family and hope that this would be a long relationship.
Until next time, bye for now.
M, Bambooka
